An online educational tool provides just-in-time training for volunteers who will be providing services at an alternate care site. It addresses the need for volunteers who must be trained quickly to respond to major emergencies. The online course may particularly benefit public health agencies, hospitals, and community groups for three reasons: 1) The material can be adapted to any major public health threat or disaster; 2) Training can be scaled to the needs of the event; and 3) The course can be set up easily for incoming volunteers.
