Influenza Care Centers (ICC) (CA)

From:  Santa Clara County Public Health Department (California)
Description

Santa Clara County has developed the concept of Influenza Care Centers (ICCs) as part of its Pandemic Influenza Plan. The proposal includes development of several ICC levels designed to cohort care for people with influenza infection. Cohorts may include people with insufficient care resources at home and people who cannot stay at home because they require a higher level of care. This concept constitutes a preparedness option, because it includes specific information about staffing, supplies, roles and responsibilities, operational details, and organizational considerations. This concept of operations would be a useful guide for a county or city working on the development of an acute care center in a local area.

Component Parts
Materials submitted for this project consist of electronic documents and web links, and combinations of both. If a component part appears to have more than one link, this is why: CIDRAP saved the documents and reviewed both documents and links when the practices were submitted for review. The external links included here may be duplicative to some of the stored files, but they may also be updated or provide additional useful information.
