The At-Risk Populations Project
The At-Risk Populations Project
June 2008 – Welcome to the At-Risk Populations Project (ARPP) Web site hosted by the Center for Infectious Disease Research & Policy (CIDRAP).
Here you'll find national guidance to help the most vulnerable people in America during an influenza pandemic – the "At-Risk Populations and Pandemic Influenza: Planning Guidance for State, Territorial, Tribal, and Local Health Departments."
These detailed national recommendations describe how to:
-
Collaborate with and engage at-risk populations
-
Identify at-risk populations
-
Communicate with and educate at-risk populations
-
Provide services, both clinical and non-clinical, to at-risk populations
-
Test, exercise, measure, and improve preparedness levels of at-risk populations
Below you'll find the guidance, reports on state and local tools, a federal and national document review and project information.
This page also includes a collection of peer-reviewed practices for at-risk groups to assist your planning efforts. To access them, scroll down the left side of the page to the "At-Risk Groups" heading and click on a subtopic.
The Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO), the national non-profit organization representing the 57 state and territorial public health agencies of the United States, US Territories, and the District of Columbia, received funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to develop guidance for state, territorial, tribal, and local health departments on at-risk populations in an influenza pandemic. The guidance was produced in partnership with CIDRAP, with support from additional organizations (please see "About This Project" below for more details). This Web site is sponsored by ASTHO as part of that project.
